There was a Twyford Choral Society before 1939, but it lapsed during the war. It was revived under the same title in the 1950s but in recent years we have adopted the simpler name of Singers, which we thought might be less off-putting for potential members and audiences.
We perform a Christmas and Summer Concert each year and an Easter performance on Palm Sunday. We occasionally get invited to sing at other events and from time to time we visit local residential homes for a Sing-along with the residents. At Christmas our popular Twyford Town Xmas Concert has recently had to move into St Mary's Church to accommodate the audience.

The Singers gave a concert at St Anselm's Church, Hayes in February 2006. |
We have a wide repertoire of simple pieces, songs from the shows such as "South Pacific" or "West Side Story", Victorian love songs, madrigals, opera choruses, oratorios .... We tackle more complex pieces from time to time, occasionally by "modern" composers such as Richard Rodgers, John Rutter, Sir Paul McCartney & John Lennon and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
